I am a regular reader of your column and enjoy your dry humour. I wanted to email you to say that it is not only men in the city viewed in a negative way. I am by no means a high flyer but I am financially independent, own my own house and have two foreign holidays a year and happen to work by Bank station in a very successful bank. People make so many assumptions and some men I know are intimidated – I have actually pretended to be a secretary to be less judged!! I don’t judge people – I was married to a warehouseman (though later divorced!) it made no difference to me – the decent people don’t really care (within reason!!) what you do. It’s what is inside that counts.
